Terribly Sick

So this past weekend we went down to Denver to stay at my parent's house while they were out of town.

Saturday afternoon, after spending a littlle while looking for new earrings for me, Brian and Danielle and I went to Old Chicago's for lunch. We all stuffed ourselves since my parents had left us money to eat with.

Later on that evening, Shelly and Matt (friends) came over to eat dinner with us. We had a really yummy dinner of steak and salad, and watched the movie "1408". After dinner, I started to get tired and by the end of the movie I had a stomach ache. The tummy aches and indigestion have been pretty routine for me, but this just didn't feel the same.

Brian suggested that I try and sleep it off, so I went up to the bed for the evening. I laid down and slept for about 2-3 hours. Next time I woke up I was in horrible pain. I tried to lay in the bath to relieve the pain in my stomach, but after getting into the hot water I immediately vomited. My entire dinner and maybe some of my lunch came back up. I got out of the tub and woke Brian up, and asked him to call the doctor. The doctor on call told me to go to the ER, but my mom talked me out of it. After waking her up at 3am she convinced me unless I was spotting or cramping lower down, there wasn't really a whole lot they could do (after sitting in the ER for hours)

The next 6-8 hours were hell. It was like the times that I woke up in the morning after drinking WAY too much. I couldn't keep anything down, not even water or tea. I kept trying to drink fluids and they kept coming back up. I finally fell asleep and told Brian if I couldn't keep anything down in the morning we'd go to the ER.

Sunday was rough and so was today. I've spent nearly every waking moment sleeping or curled up with a heating pad on low. I never imagined food could make me so sick when i'm pregnant (especially food I've eaten in the past) or make it last so long.

I'm ready to feel better already.

Funny thing about food and pregnancy. Food that you normally would love and not bother you, makes you sick. Food that you wouldn't normally touch, you love. For instnance, I HATED mashed potatoes and gravy. While pregnant with Bella, I couldn't get enough of KFC mashed potatoes and gravy.
