I love Christmas, but I'm SO glad it's over.
With all of our family to see, Christmas gets really overwhelming. Getting to everyone is a pain in the butt and then remembering all of the gifts and getting there on time (I could go on and on) just gets old.
On Monday we went to breakfast for Brian's birthday and virtually did nothing. We sat around the house and he played Warcraft while I napped and watched TV. We left for my grandparents house early evening, spending over 20 minutes loading the car up with all our family gifts.
Seeing my extended family was nice, I haven't seen my twin cousins in over a year. I obviously had a lot of questions about the baby and being pregnant, which I'm pretty used to by now. We exchanged gifts and already Davin is getting things- my aunt bought him a clothing set and my grandma bought him a keepsake spoon. I got some giftcards and Brian got some DVD's from the gift exchange.
We spent the night at my parent's house on Christmas eve and I'm so glad we did, because by the time we woke up on Christmas morning there were already at least 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground. We spent the morning exchanging gifts, which took awhile! My parent's spoiled us to death and it made me happy that they see Brian as a permanant part of the family now.
My favorite gift from my parents has to be the new down comforter. I've been so comfy at night now...it's great.
From my parent's house we had to drive 50 miles to Monument to see Brian's family. The drive was terrible and it took us forever to get their. Christmas with his family isn't as big of a fiasco and presents aren't really a big deal. Which is fine with me, it's nicer that way. Davin, once again, got quite a few things- blankets, burping cloths, clothes, keepsakes, etc. We got a new knife and silverware set which helped out our kitchen situation tremedously.
By 8pm on Christmas I was just ready to go home....
It was ridiculous trying to bring in everything from the car in the middle of the snow. I think it took us 45 minutes to get it all inside.
By the time it was all said and done, Brian and I put the new comforter on our bed and crashed.
So far, the rest of the week has been pretty uneventful. Brian has been off, so we've been relaxing and I've been quiet about him playing Warcraft. The snow we continue to get will probably keep us mostly indoors.

Davin will be getting many things like that for years to come. :) I'm still trying to find a box big enough to ship the bassinet. I'd take it apart, but I don't remember what I did with the directions for it (so that Brian or you could put it together).
